Job summary

Halfords in Ibstock, Leicestershire, is recruiting a Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles, including more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts, and diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

You will work five days a week; the centre is closed on Sundays. A competitive base salary (£31,480–£33,500) plus an uncapped monthly bonus (average £6,600 per year) awaits you, with extensive staff benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair work, including clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Carry out diagnostics and complex repairs (coolant, diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

Role Overview

As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering, and suspension systems.

Skills and Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
