Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Autocentres in the UK. You will service and repair vehicles, handle tasks from clutches to timing belts, and perform diagnostics across electrical, brakes, steering and suspension.

You’ll need a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience, plus a full UK driving licence (no more than 9 points). The role offers base pay with a strong uncapped bonus and significant staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs

• On-target earnings up to £42,420
• Comprising a base salary of £31,480 - £36,620
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £5,800 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
