Job summary

Halfords in Hawkinge, Kent is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles, including diagnostics, with opportunities to learn more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements. You will join the UK\'s leading motoring services business and benefit from a comprehensive benefits package.

The role offers base pay £34,000–£38,100 plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging around £6,900 per year, with on-target earnings up to £45,000.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Carry out clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Perform diagnostics in areas such as electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

• Comprising a base salary of £34,000 - £38,100

Working hours: 5 days a week (closed on Sundays)

As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience:

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
