Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their client’s team in Blaydon. The role focuses on maintenance, servicing and repair of light commercial vehicles, with a Monday–Friday schedule and optional overtime.

A strong diagnostic ability is required. Qualified technicians with Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds preferred, proven experience on vans, full UK driving licence, and a commitment to high workmanship and paperwork accuracy.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
• Proven experience as Vehicle Technician / LCV Technician.
• Full UK Driving Licence and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and inspections.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer guidelines; complete paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.

Job Title: Vehicle Technician (Vans)

Salary: £37,639 Basic Salary (£43,639 OTE)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with optional overtime)

About the Role

Our client is one of the UKs leading vehicle hire and fleet management businesses, and they are currently looking for skilled Vehicle Technicians to join their growing team across multiple sites nationwide.

This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans , ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles (highly desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
