Job summary

A leading vehicle fleet provider in Borehamwood is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their team. You will service a diverse fleet of vans and cars, carry out maintenance and repairs, and prepare vehicles for MOT to strict standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified vehicle technician with Level 3 City & Guilds (or equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities on light commercial vehicles and cars.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good communication and team working skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical systems on light commercial vehicles using manufacturer diagnostic tools.
• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and servicing to manufacturer standards.
• Complete vehicle repairs or component replacements as required.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction through quality work and service.
• Work within a team to support regional workshop operations and maintain fleet efficiency.

Duties of the Vehicle Technician:

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical systems on light commercial vehicles using manufacturer diagnostic technology
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing to manufacturer standards
• Complete vehicle repairs or component replacements as required
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction through quality work and service
• Work within a team to support regional workshop operations and maintain fleet efficiency
• Continually develop technical skills through in-house and manufacturer training programmes

Requirements of the Vehicle Technician:

• Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a vehicle technician role, preferably within a fleet environment
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Team player with good communication skills
• Experience working on light commercial vehicles is desirable
