Job summary

Halfords Garage Services in Coventry is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Autocentres team. You will service and repair vehicles, carry out diagnostic work, and handle more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.

The role requires a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience and a full UK driving licence (no more than 9 points). The base salary is £33,000–£36,620 with uncapped monthly bonuses bringing OTE up to £43,220.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work on vehicles.
• Perform complex repairs including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brakes, steering and suspension systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
