Job summary

Halfords is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Garage Services team. You will perform servicing and repairs, including more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts, and diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

Based in our Fusion centres, you’ll join a fast-growing automotive service leader with a strong focus on customer experience, training, and progression opportunities within Halfords. A full driving licence with up to 9 points is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work and more complex tasks (clutches, timing belts, diagnostics) across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

Job description

• On-target earnings up to £41,450
• Comprising a base salary of £34,640- £ 38,100
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,900 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
