Job summary

Halfords Garage Services are hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Widnes, Cheshire. You will service and repair vehicles, including clutch and timing belt work, with diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

The role offers a base salary of £33,000-£35,000 plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £7,100 per year, with total earnings up to £42,100. 5 days a week, centre closed Sundays.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work as part of Halfords Garage Services.
• Perform more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts and diagnostics.
• Diagnose issues in brakes, steering/suspension and engine systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
