Job summary

Halfords in Colchester is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our Autocentres team, diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems to the highest standards.

You'll carry out diagnostics on brakes, steering/suspension, engines and more, with a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time‑served experience) and a full UK driving licence. We offer career progression, a comprehensive benefits package and an uncapped bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full UK driving licence required with no more than 9 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic work on vehicles (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repairs.
• Perform repairs and replacements such as coolant, injectors, head gasket, brakes and electrical components.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
