Job summary

Halfords in Greater London is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Chingford Autocentre. This full-time role covers servicing, repair and diagnostic work, including more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time-served experience) and a full UK driving licence with up to 9 points. Halfords offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career progression.

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time-served equivalent.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience as a Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic capability (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement work.
• Perform complex tasks including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Conduct diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
