Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician in Barking to service, repair and diagnose a varied fleet of cars and vans. The role requires a Level 2 qualification with 3+ years in a similar role, or a Level 3 qualification, with strong diagnostic ability and a right to work in the UK.

You will work 42.5 hours per week on day shifts, with overtime paid at time and a half. A comprehensive benefits package includes lengthy annual leave, life assurance, health/dental plans

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' employment as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, or be fully qualified to Level 3.
• Strong servicing, maintenance and mechanical repair experience.
• Good vehicle diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a varied fleet of cars and vans.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle faults.
• Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs.
• Complete mechanical repairs safely and efficiently.
• Ensure vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and legally compliant.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship across all repairs.
• Work closely with the workshop team to maximise fleet availability.

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic to join a fleet workshop in Barking. Applicants must either hold a Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' employment as a Technician/Mechanic, or be fully qualified to Level 3, with strong servicing, repair and diagnostic experience and the right to work in the UK.

• Salary: £39,729 basic
• OTE: £45,729 plus overtime
