Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a leading UK automotive group based in Farnborough. A Level 3 qualified technician, or Level 2 with at least 3 years’ experience, will service a wide range of vehicles.

This permanent, full-time role runs Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. Salary up to £40,000 basic plus bonus and overtime, with OTE around £60,000 and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent IMI / City & Guilds qualification).
• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and component updates, in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension, and basic engine systems.
• Complete thorough Electronic Vehicle Health Checks (eVHCs) to identify and record any work required.
• Record accurate technical findings and parts requirements clearly on digital job cards.
• Complete standard warranty repairs in line with factory protocols and agreed timeframes.
• Maintain high levels of workshop productivity to meet individual efficiency and first-time fix targets.
