Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking a Software Systems Engineer for an established Bridgend-based engineering company producing laser-based machinery used for marking, stripping and processing electrical wire and cable. The role focuses on integrating software with hardware, maintaining legacy systems, and delivering robust Windows VB.NET applications.

Qualifications

VB.NET experience in Windows desktop environments.
Experience working with hardware or machinery.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Familiarity with large/legacy codebases.
Willingness to travel to client sites, including internationally.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and enhance VB.NET software within a Windows desktop environment.
Work closely with hardware and machinery to ensure software performs correctly in real-world systems.
Investigate and resolve software and machine issues in production environments.
Bug fix and modify existing products; develop bespoke configurations for customers.
Navigate large, legacy codebases and integrate with customer configurations.
Travel to client sites for installations and international assignments as needed.
