Job summary

Sanderson in Bridgend is looking for an experienced Software Systems Engineer to join our specialist engineering team developing software and control systems for complex automated machinery. This hands-on role sits where software meets hardware, taking ownership of design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance across products.

You will support and develop VB.NET control software and contribute to future projects using the best technologies.

Qualifications

5+ years of commercial software development experience.
Strong VB.NET development experience.
Experience in engineering/manufacturing/automation or machine-control environments.
Experience integrating software with physical hardware.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain software and control systems for automated machinery.
Analyse requirements and translate into software specifications.
Develop and test software using VB.NET and other suitable technologies.
Produce system specifications and documentation.
Develop test plans and support testing lifecycle.
Collaborate with engineering, product development and production teams.
Integrate software with hardware and machine control systems.
Investigate and resolve software and system issues.
Support ongoing maintenance of VB.NET control systems.
Liaise with customers and contractors as needed.
