Sanderson in Bridgend is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join a specialist engineering business developing software and control systems for complex automated machinery. The role sits at the intersection of software and hardware, responsible for design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance of software used across products.

You will support and develop existing VB.NET control software while contributing to future projects using suitable technologies.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience developing software using VB.NET.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, automation or machine-control environments.
• Experience or strong understanding of software interfacing with physical hardware.
• Understanding of machine control or motion control systems.
• HND, degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or related discipline.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and maintain software and control systems for automated machinery.
• Analyse software requirements based on product specs and customer needs.
• Develop software using VB.NET and other appropriate technologies.
• Produce system specs covering software design, interfaces and product requirements.
• Develop test plans, procedures and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product development and production teams through the lifecycle.
• Integrate software with hardware and machine control systems.
• Investigate and resolve software and system issues across development, test and live environments.
• Implement bug fixes, system modifications and product enhancements.
• Support ongoing development and maintenance of existing VB.NET control systems.
• Liaise with customers, contractors and other technical stakeholders as required.
• Provide occasional support for installations at customer sites internationally.
