Job summary
Candour Talent is seeking a Software Engineer (Control Systems) to join our Bridgend team. The role centers on designing, developing, and maintaining software and control systems for high-tech capital equipment.
You will analyse requirements, develop in VB.NET, work with PLCs and laser control, and collaborate with product development and production teams. Some international field travel may be required.
Qualifications
- HND/Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
- 5+ years' software development experience, ideally within an engineering environment.
- Strong VB.NET development experience.
- Experience with PLC systems and/or laser control would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Carry out analysis of software requirements according to product definition and customer needs.
- Ensure timely generation of system specifications including design interfaces and product definition.
- Design and development of software code to meet requirements using appropriate languages.
- Prepare module descriptions, test plans and documentation, verifying compliance with requirements.
- Liaise with end users and contractors to ensure system compliance.
- Support field installations worldwide as required.
- Investigate system problems from design through to deployment and support.
- Define and implement bug fixes and enhancements to prevent recurrence.
