A leading insurance company in Greater London is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee UK and EU VAT compliance. This role will involve preparing timely tax filings, monitoring legislative changes, and collaborating with various departments. The ideal candidate should have VAT experience, strong communication skills, and an accounting qualification is preferred. The Tax Manager is responsible for tax filings and reporting, including related systems and governance, for the group’s UK non-life insurance entities, subsidiaries, UK and non-UK branches and Lloyd’s entities, and contributing to the success of the wider team.
The ability to independently organise, prioritise and manage several workstreams to meet statutory and internal deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
Confidence to ask questions / challenge information provided and initiative especially in dealing with areas of ambiguity.
A proactive attitude to identifying problems / better ways of working and recommending / implementing solutions.
Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to communicate tax‑technical issues to a non‑tax audience and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
