Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay invites applications for a Cancer Patient Navigator within the Urology Cancer Team to support rapid diagnostic services and holistic patient care.

You will assist clinical colleagues, manage patient pathways, and ensure timely appointments while maintaining relevant databases.

Experience in health or social care is beneficial; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Good general education including GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• ECDL or recognised experience.
• Evidence of ongoing personal development.
• Experience of undertaking a range of administrative duties.
• Experience of using MS Office Systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of NHS data definitions relating to Cancer Standards and Cancer Waiting Times.
• Previous NHS experience.
• Experience of using a Patient Database.
• Experience of working with spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of cancer patients through their pathway of care, ensuring results are managed to avoid delays.
• Ensure patients receive appointments and next steps in a timely fashion.
• Maintain and update relevant databases as required.
• Support patients and carers in re-accessing specialist services without delay.
