Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay is seeking a Pathway Navigator to support patients on the Suspected 2WW Lower GI Pathway, coordinating diagnostics and outcomes.

You will work with consultants, specialist nurses, endoscopy teams, and admin colleagues to track pathways, ensure timely progression, and maintain data quality, contributing to high-quality patient care and cancer waiting time targets.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent or relevant experience.
• GCSE Maths and English Equivalent.
• Shorthand.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key point of contact for patients on the Suspected 2WW Lower GI Pathway and support them through their diagnostic journey.
• Coordinate and track patient pathways to ensure timely progression in line with cancer waiting standards.
• Monitor diagnostic investigations, histology results, and clinical outcomes, escalating delays when needed.
• Work with consultants, specialist nurses, endoscopy teams and admin colleagues to facilitate care.
• Maintain and update patient tracking systems with accurate data.
• Manage patients awaiting results and ensure timely follow-up and referrals.
• Assist with management of clinical correspondence and adhere to letter turnaround times.
