Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Cancer Patient Navigator to join the Urology Cancer Team. You will support rapid diagnostic pathways, coordinating appointments and providing holistic care to patients with suspected or diagnosed cancer.

The role requires excellent communication, teamwork and the ability to work independently within the job description, with NHS experience preferred. The position is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English
• ECDL or recognised experience
• Evidence of ongoing personal development

Responsibilities

• Track cancer patients through their pathway of care, ensuring timely results and alignment with National Cancer Waiting Times standards
• Ensure patients receive appointments and next steps in their pathway promptly
• Maintain and update relevant databases as required
• Support patients and carers in re-accessing specialist services without delay
