Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Urban Drainage Modeller to join our Northern teams in Newcastle or Leeds. You’ll apply urban drainage modelling expertise from concept through to design and delivery, supporting UK water programmes.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, develop and verify hydraulic models, and provide technical recommendations to clients and project teams across storm overflows, water quality, and flood risk. Hybrid working options apply.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in urban drainage or wastewater modelling environment.
• Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM.
• Understanding of hydraulic modelling principles in water sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication, including report writing and presenting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify and maintain hydraulic models using InfoWorks ICM.
• Undertake urban drainage and wastewater modelling studies to support client investment decisions.
• Cover projects on storm overflows, water quality, network performance and flood risk.
• Analyse modelling outputs and provide clear technical recommendations.
• Contribute to development of innovative modelling approaches and digital tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, modellers, environmental specialists, clients and partners.
