Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Urban Drainage Modeller to lead complex urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects from Newcastle or Leeds. You will direct technical outputs, governance and client engagement, shaping solutions for UK frameworks.

You will mentor teams, develop digital tools and contribute to AMP delivery, with emphasis on high-quality, data-driven modelling and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in urban drainage or wastewater modelling.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring teams.
• Experience working on regulated water industry projects or frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee delivery of urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects across major UK frameworks.
• Develop and apply advanced hydraulic models to assess flood risk and optimise drainage systems.
• Provide technical governance, review and sign-off of modelling outputs.
• Support project planning, coordination and delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead and mentor engineers and modellers, supporting their development.
• Contribute to client engagement and long-term solution development.
