Overview

Join us as an Underwriting Portfolio Analyst to take your career to the next level with a global market leader.



Responsibilities

This is a fantastic project based analytics role where you will be responsible for supporting the Underwriting Portfolio Analytics team. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of AIG functions globally to deliver proofs of concepts for new analytical ideas as well as maintain and monitor regular performance reports.



  • Provide the Global Commercial Lines CUO teams with the analytical support they require to consistently differentiate their portfolios.

  • Support the development, alignment, execution and monitoring of portfolio strategies.

  • Work collaboratively to bring together data, develop tools and reports to allow analysis to support CUO teams.

  • Be actively involved in technical requirements at the build stage of projects.

  • Work with data, actuarial, underwriting, claims, risk teams to prototype tools and reports.

  • Work collaboratively with these teams to automate existing and future reporting requirements.

  • Understand existing models that the team use. Help to validate developments in these models. Communicate and guide stakeholders in interpreting outputs from these models accurately to drive underwriting and portfolio decisions.

  • Support AIG’s GenAI teams to develop tools to improve efficiency and modelling.



Qualifications


  • Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline.

  • Experience in a Data Science, Data Engineering or Analytics role

  • Modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience of critically evaluating data and models.

  • Ability to understand/interpret model outputs.

  • Coding skills in Python or R.

  • Knowledge of how to work with Excel and Power BI.

  • Understand the importance of best practices in coding, documentation and putting together analytical dashboards.

  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
