Job summary

Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd. seeks an Undergraduate Placement Year 2027 – Production Engineer to join a tight-knit team at the Clay Cross site.

You will work on digitalisation initiatives, assist with Industry 4.0 projects, and lead improvements while gaining hands-on manufacturing exposure. The role combines engineering problem solving with project management, offering a path to lead initiatives and learn new disciplines.

• Be studying a Bachelors or Masters in a STEM field.
• Good attitude to learning.
• Willingness to drive projects and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Improve the digitalisation of the Clay Cross Manufacturing plant.
• Assist in Industry 4.0 projects across processes.
• Lead/participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
• Support launch of new products and changes to existing ones.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing legislation and SOP upkeep.
• Balance office work with hands-on shop floor activity.
• Problem solve live issues to keep production moving.

An internship with Worcester Bosch will allow you to develop your skill in problem solving, critical thinking and project management while giving you the freedom to lead improvement projects, be creative in your solutions and learn about new engineering disciplines.

You will be joining a tight knit team of young engineering’s that have a culture of support, communication and trust. There is a strong sense of team work and collaboration with a determination to drive improvements and projects. There has also been a high number of returning interns after there studies have been completed.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Improving the digitalisation of the Clay Cross Manufacturing plant
• Assist in I4.0 projects in different processes around the manufacturing site
• Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement Projects
• Supporting the launch of new products into the plant and changes to existing products
• Ensuring that we meet internal and external legislation for the manufacturing process
• Upkeep and creation of SOPs
• A good balance of office work and being hands on in a shop floor environment
• Problem solving on live issues on manufacturing lines to keep production going

Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

• Some problem solving experience

Contract Duration: 1 year

Working Hours:39 hours per week - standard working pattern of 07:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak and 07:00 - 12:00 Friday
