Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd. invites you to join the Bosch Production Systems team as a Lean Operations & Planning Intern for a 1-year placement starting summer 2027.

Based at Clay Cross, you will work on projects to streamline production flow, kanban control, and information systems within a lean, Industry 4.0 environment. Under mentorship you’ll lead improvement initiatives across logistics and production, collaborate with engineering, HR and health & safety, and develop practical skills in MS

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree with interest in business management, project management and logistics.
• Willingness to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and eager to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement projects across logistics, production, and information flows with mentor support.
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to long-term strategic plans for site efficiency.
• Manage production data and processes, including database upkeep and data optimization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Health & Safety and Engineering.
• Coordinate projects, run planning meetings, and track milestones to deliver results.
• Support site-wide logistics and data flow improvements across Clay Cross.

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Bosch Production Systems team as a Lean Operations & Planning Intern!

This proactive role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change at Worcester Bosch, based within our BPS/Planning department, where we are anchored in lean management and continuous improvement. As we embrace lean operations and Industry 4.0 on a global scale, you will work alongside experts in lean management to take ownership of projects that streamline our production flow at Clay Cross and that could scale to impact Bosch sites worldwide.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Your role: Collaborate, innovate, and lead your own improvement projects across logistics, production, and information flows—working with core departments like Health & Safety, Engineering, and more. Your ideas and contributions will directly influence the future of our operations and Bosch’s long-term energy strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Work closely with our logistics and manufacturing teams to lead process improvements around kanban control, material flow, information flow, and product databases. You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for managing and implementing your projects, supported by seasoned mentors.
• Continuous Improvement & Strategic Planning: Dive into continuous improvement projects across the year, with full ownership over your own initiatives. Play a vital role in driving long-term strategic plans that improve efficiency and productivity across our sites.
• Data & Process Management: Oversee and maintain internal databases, streamline production processes, and ensure that essential production data is accurately processed and optimized using platforms like MS Excel.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departments across the site, offering support, guidance, and expertise on active projects. This includes alignment with HR to assist in managing annualized hours, holiday management, training matrices, and more.
• Project Coordination: Facilitate alignment across project teams to ensure milestones and deadlines are met. Run planning meetings, check-ins, and project reviews to maintain momentum and deliver results.
• Organizational Impact: From controlling site-wide logistics to improving data flow and supporting production processes, you’ll be directly involved in projects that enhance the entire Clay Cross site.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with a readiness to learn new software and master complex systems.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Confident communicator, skilled in both written and verbal interactions across all levels of the organization.

Working Hours

39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak and 07:00 – 12:00 Friday
