Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd. in Worcester invites applications for a 12-month Undergraduate Placement Year 2027 as a Production Engineering Intern. The role supports engineers to optimize manufacturing processes, designing and maintaining tooling and equipment, with a focus on quality, efficiency and safety.

The placement runs summer 2027, with a 39-hour week, and offers exposure to cross-functional teams within a world-renowned heating brand. Right to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, throughput, quality, and cost reduction.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Drive efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and waste.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement permanent solutions.
• Collaborate with Production to support daily operations, resolve technical issues, and provide training.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern plays a critical role in supporting the engineers to optimize and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing tools, gauges, and equipment. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, reduce waste, and enhance overall production performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Contract Duration: 1 year

Working Hours: 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 – 15:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak
