Vanilla Recruitment is representing a manufacturing business seeking a Payroll Team Lead to oversee the UK payroll function. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager in a supportive finance team to ensure payroll accuracy, statutory compliance and continuous improvement.

The role offers £33,000–£37,000 with hybrid working (4 days on-site, 1 day WFH), free on-site parking, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and life assurance x4.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end UK payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, pensions, HMRC rules.
• Proficient in Excel and payroll reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with ability to resolve discrepancies.

Responsabilités

• Process monthly UK payrolls end-to-end (starters, leavers, changes, overtime, bonuses, deductions, absences, statutory payments).
• Ensure RTI submissions, P45s, P60s, P32s, PAYE, NIC and pension contributions are compliant and timely.
• Review and reconcile time and attendance data; manage payroll data accuracy.
• First point of contact for payroll queries; maintain high levels of service.
• Support year-end reporting, audits, and provide accurate data to Finance and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, managers, employees and auditors to improve processes.
