Volkswagen Group in the United Kingdom seeks a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team. You will ensure compliance with UK Data Protection laws, advise business units and senior leaders, support the DPO in statutory duties, and lead initiatives from breach management to regulatory engagement.

You will guide on ICO guidance, maintain ROPA, and perform DPIAs while driving continuous improvement in privacy practices across VWFS UK.

Qualifications

• Proven data protection advisory experience within Compliance and/or Legal.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer/retail banking or similar sectors.
• Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Skilled at researching, analyzing and presenting complex regulatory information clearly.
• Willingness to challenge views and interpret guidance with accuracy and proportionality.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert guidance on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead the handling of personal data breaches and MI reporting to senior forums.
• Act as point of contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation matters.
• Develop and execute second-line monitoring to assess compliance and improvements.
• Liaise with the ICO on customer complaints and regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance to resolve data protection issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in data protection compliance and efficiency.
