Job summary

Smart Education are seeking a Tutor to work in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This contract role offers flexible hours and a pay rate of £26.62 per hour. You will deliver targeted tutoring in English, Maths or Science, supporting students in home or residential settings with personalised learning plans.

Requirements include QTS/QTLS/PGCE or substantial tutoring experience, plus DBS clearance. 2 hours planning weekly and access to CPD resources are provided.

Qualifications

• Professional teaching qualifications (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) or extensive tutoring experience.
• Experience tutoring English, Maths or Science to learners with varying needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 with students and adapt approaches.

Responsibilities

Job Requirements of a Tutor

Professional teaching qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), subject specialism, or extensive tutoring experience in English, Maths, and/or Science

Experience working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Role responsibilities of a Tutor

Working 1:1 with students in a home or residential setting (including LAC environments)

Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education and support with re-engagement in education

Adapting teaching approaches to suit a variety of backgrounds and learning needs using a creative and versatile teaching style
