Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a Tutor to work in North Hykeham on a contract basis. The role involves 1:1 tutoring in a home setting with flexible hours and a focus on personalised learning strategies for students from diverse backgrounds.

Applicants should have an enhanced DBS, and hold QTS/ QTLS/ PGCE or equivalent, with UK tutoring/teaching experience and SEN/SEMH understanding. DBS on update service preferred; school hours apply.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to acquire one.
• Have a QTS / QTLS / PGCE, Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting English, Maths and/or Science.
• A minimum of 1 year teaching or tutoring UK experience.
• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 tutoring in home settings with students from various backgrounds.
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education.
• Supporting a young person’s re-engagement in education.
• Adapting sessions to meet individual learning needs and stages.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person's re-engagement in education
