Job summary

Smart Education are currently recruiting a Tutor to work in Gloucester, offering flexible hours under a contract arrangement.

The role involves 1:1 tutoring with students, planning and tailoring learning approaches for learners with SEN/SEMH, and using engaging teaching methods. A current DBS and QTS/PGCE or equivalent tutoring experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring English, Maths or Science required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions with students in home or residential settings.
• Develop personalised learning plans to re-engage learners with education.
• Adapt teaching methods to diverse backgrounds and needs.

Job Requirements of a Tutor

• Professional teaching qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), subject specialism, or extensive tutoring experience in English, Maths, and/or Science
• Experience working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Role responsibilities of a Tutor

• Working 1:1 with students in a home or residential setting (including LAC environments)
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education and support with re-engagement in education
• Adapting teaching approaches to suit a variety of backgrounds and learning needs using a creative and versatile teaching style
