Job summary

Smart Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Tutor in Birmingham for a contract position paying £26.62 per hour. The role involves delivering 1:1 tutoring in home or residential settings and requires flexible hours to suit families and schools.

You will need an enhanced DBS (update service) or willingness to obtain one, and hold a QTS/QTLS/PGCE or have tuition experience in English, Maths or Science. A minimum of 1 year UK tutoring/teaching and SEN/SEMH experience are required.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent subject specialism or tuition experience in English, Maths and/or Science.
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Experience with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with students in a home or similar setting, differentiating needs and planning accordingly.
• Develop personalised learning strategies for students outside mainstream education.
• Support a young person’s re-engagement in education.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

• Have a (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science
• A minimum of 1 years teaching or tutoring UK experience
• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person's re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
