Job summary

Smart Education Recruitment Ltd is looking for a Tutor in Gloucester to work on a contract basis with flexible hours. The role involves 1:1 tutoring in home or residential settings, developing personalised learning strategies, and supporting re-engagement in education.

You will typically teach English, Maths or Science to learners with diverse needs, requiring creativity and adaptability. A DBS update service check or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Professional teaching qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), subject specialism, or extensive tutoring experience in English, Maths, and/or Science.
• Experience working with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with students in a home or residential setting (including LAC environments).
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education and support with re-engagement in education.
• Adapting teaching approaches to suit a variety of backgrounds and learning needs using a creative and versatile teaching style.
