Job summary

Specialist SEND Group in Stockport is seeking a patient, nurturing SEMH Tutor to provide 1:1 Maths and English support to a young person. The role focuses on building trust, reducing anxiety, and creating a calm learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH, anxiety or barriers to education.
• Qualified teacher, experienced tutor or education professional.

For some, anxiety can make education feel overwhelming — and before academic progress can happen, they first need someone who understands them, builds their trust and makes learning feel manageable again.

Specialist SEND Group is looking for a patient, nurturing and experienced SEMH Tutor to provide 1:1 support to a young person in Stockport, helping them continue their education through a personalised approach to Maths and English.

This is about much more than delivering lessons. It’s about understanding that some days progress might look like completing a task, having the confidence to ask a question, or simply feeling comfortable enough to engage.
