Job summary

Smart Education are recruiting a Tutor to work in Upton, delivering one-to-one or small group sessions in a home setting. You will support English, Maths and/or Science, tailoring plans to each learner and advancing engagement with education.

A DBS on update service is preferred, along with 1 year UK tutoring/teaching experience and a relevant qualification (QTS/QTLS/PGCE). Flexible hours align with school patterns and student needs.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to acquire one.
• Have a QTS/QTLS/PGCE, subject specialism or tuition experience in English, Maths and/or Science.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching or tutoring UK experience.
• Experience/understanding of working with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Working in a home setting, 1:1 with students aged KS1 to FE depending on experience.
• Develop personalised learning strategies for students outside mainstream education.
• Support a young person's re-engagement in education.
• Differentiate tasks to meet individual learning needs.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person's re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
