Job summary

Smart Education is seeking a Tutor to work in Walsall in a flexible, contract role. The position involves 1:1 tutoring with students from KS1 to further education, in home or residential settings, with DBS clearance required and preferred SEN/SEMH experience.

You will develop personalised learning plans, help re-engage learners with education, and adapt strategies to individual needs while following school-hour expectations.

Qualifications

• DBS check (enhanced) or willingness to obtain one.
• Qualified teacher status or subject specialist with tutoring experience in English, Maths and/or Science.
• Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring in the UK.
• Experience with SEN/SEMH learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring in a home or residential setting.
• Develop personalised learning plans for students off mainsteam education.
• Support re-engagement in education and motivate learners.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

• Have a (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science
• A minimum of 1 years teaching or tutoring UK experience
• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person s re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
