Job summary

Smart Education are currently recruiting a Tutor to work in Moulton Park. The role is contract-based with flexible hours and a pay rate of £26.62 per hour. You will work 1:1 with students, developing personalised learning plans and supporting re-engagement in education.

Applicants should have a QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent, UK tutoring experience (1+ year), and an enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one. DBS checks are required for safeguarding.

Qualifications

• DBS check (enhanced) or willingness to obtain one.
• UK teaching/tutoring experience (minimum 1 year).
• Experience/understanding of SEN/SEMH with children/young people.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1:1 tutoring sessions in home or residential settings (LAC), adapting to individual needs.
• Develop personalised learning strategies for students outside mainstream education.
• Support a student’s re-engagement with education.
• Deliver lessons tailored to KS1 to FE depending on experience.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

• Have a (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science
• A minimum of 1 years teaching or tutoring UK experience
• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person s re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
