Job summary

Smart Education Recruitment in Birmingham is seeking a Tutor to work with students in home or residential settings. The role is contract-based with flexible hours, focusing on 1:1 tuition across English, Maths and/or Science and building personalised learning plans.

You will hold QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent and have UK tutoring or teaching experience of at least one year, including SEN/SEMH awareness. DBS update service preferred.

Qualifications

• Tuition experience in UK settings or tutoring roles.
• Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Experience working with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with students in home or residential settings, adapting for diverse backgrounds.
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education.
• Supporting a young person’s re-engagement in education.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

• Have a (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science
• A minimum of 1 years teaching or tutoring UK experience
• Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited

• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person s re-engagement in education
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
