Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a Tutor to work in North Hykeham on a contract basis with flexible hours. You will deliver 1:1 tutoring across key stages, supporting English, Maths and/or Science while differentiating for each learner's needs.

The role requires an enhanced DBS (updated service) or willingness to obtain one, plus UK teaching qualifications or equivalent tutoring experience. DBS clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to acquire one.
• Have a QTS / QTLS / PGCE, or subject specialism with tutoring experience in English, Maths and/or Science.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching or tutoring UK experience.
• Experience with children/young people with SEN/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students in home or similar settings, differentiating for varied needs.
• Develop personalised learning strategies for students outside mainstream education.
• Support a young person’s re-engagement in education.
• Deliver tailored tutoring sessions aligned with student goals.

Job Requirements of a Tutor:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one

Role Responsibilities of a Tutor:

• Being a tutor involves yourself working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for LAC. You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages can range from key stage 1 to further education depending on where your experience is best suited
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education
• Supporting a young person s re-engagement in education
