Job summary

Smart Education are recruiting a Tutor to work in Worcester on a contract basis. The role involves 1:1 tutoring in home or residential settings, with a focus on learners in need and those in LAC environments.

You will develop personalised learning strategies to re-engage students and adapt teaching to suit diverse backgrounds and learning needs, including English, Maths and Science.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS/PGCE or substantial tutoring experience.
• Experience with SEN/SEMH is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tutoring in home or residential settings (including LAC).
• Develop personalised learning strategies to re-engage learners.
• Adapt teaching approaches for diverse backgrounds and needs.

Job Requirements of a Tutor

• Professional teaching qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), subject specialism, or extensive tutoring experience in English, Maths, and/or Science
• Experience working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Role responsibilities of a Tutor

• Working 1:1 with students in a home or residential setting (including LAC environments)
• Developing personalised learning strategies for students out of mainstream education and support with re-engagement in education
• Adapting teaching approaches to suit a variety of backgrounds and learning needs using a creative and versatile teaching style
