Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), considered one of the most modern in Europe; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), known for innovative technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1 with us. Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In internal combustion engine development, you will work on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain. Your task is to develop maximum performance and efficiency of the engine, focusing on combustion processes, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. You will perform development measures during the concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  • Development of combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations
  • Thermodynamic development of the internal combustion engine's gas-exchange, combustion phase, and flow simulation of intake & exhaust systems
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with proper reports
  • Correlate measurement data from engine operation and testbenches
  • Improve processes and workflow for simulation and test data correlation
Your Profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics (bachelor's, master's, diploma, or doctorate)
  • Several years of experience in internal combustion development, especially 3D CFD simulation
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains
  • Experience handling data from testbenches
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and responsibility
  • Independent and precise working practices
  • Proficiency in German or English, with willingness to learn the other language
