Job summary

St Helens Borough Council is expanding its Arboricultural team and seeking a proactive Tree Inspector to join a high-profile role. You will inspect trees and assess risks to public safety across borough sites, issuing works per BS 3998-2010, and supporting the arborist team and partners.

The role requires flexibility, strong communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused services, while safeguarding environmental and community benefits of trees and woodlands.

Qualifications

• Must hold ABC RFS Level 2 Arboriculture or Lantra Professional Tree inspection qualification or equivalent.
• Applicants must hold a valid full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tree inspections and tree safety risk assessments across Parks, Schools, Highways and open spaces.
• Issue works in accordance with British Standard 3998-2010 for Tree Works.
• Collaborate with arborist team, public, Council staff, contractors and partners.
