Job summary

St Helens Borough Council is expanding its Arboricultural team and seeks a Tree Inspector to inspect trees, assess safety, and issue works in line with BS 3998-2010. You will join a strong team across parks, schools, highways and open spaces, contributing to maintained tree and woodland assets and high-quality public service.

The role requires a proactive, customer-focused communicator with health and safety knowledge, and driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in arboricultural tasks and tree works
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures
• Excellent communication with public, staff and partners
• Valid full driving licence required

Responsibilities

• Conduct tree inspections and safety assessments across parks, schools, highways and open spaces
• Carry out tree felling, pruning and stump removal using specialist equipment
• Issue works in line with BS 3998-2010 for Tree Works
• Support management with arborist team activities and public engagement
