Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH setting in Keighley. You will provide targeted support to pupils across KS3 to KS5, helping them engage with lessons and manage emotional and behavioural needs. A patient and resilient approach, plus strong relationship skills, are essential.

Job Title: Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Keighley
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £100 - £130 per day

• Are you an experienced Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs?
• Do you have experience supporting secondary-aged pupils who have experienced trauma and require additional emotional and behavioural support?
• Are you patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people across KS3 to KS5?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. The setting supports young people across KS3 to KS5 with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment where pupils can access education alongside appropriate emotional and behavioural support.

The setting is looking to take on a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The successful Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent classroom support, build positive relationships and help young people with SEMH needs engage with their education.

The successful Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
