Job summary

TeacherActive is hiring an SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant in Keighley to support pupils across KS3–KS5 with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers to provide consistent classroom support and help pupils engage with their learning in a specialist setting.

The role is offered on a short-term or long-term basis, with a PAYE pay structure and market-leading rates. Training and CPD opportunities are provided along with a dedicated consultant to assist with onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent classroom support to pupils across KS3–KS5.
• Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in classroom settings.
• Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and stay engaged with lessons.

Salary: £100 - £130 per day

• Are you an experienced SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs?
• Do you have experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs?
• Are you patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people across KS3 to KS5?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. The setting supports young people across KS3 to KS5 with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment focused on helping pupils engage positively with their education.

The setting is looking to take on an SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant on a short-term or long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The successful SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent classroom support, manage challenging behaviour and help young people overcome barriers to learning.

The successful SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to provide consistent support to young people
