Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH setting in Keighley to support KS3–KS5 pupils with emotional and behavioural needs. The role is long-term with ASAP start and a daily rate of £100–£130.

You will provide consistent classroom support, build positive relationships, and work closely with staff to help pupils engage with education. Candidates should have SEMH experience, trauma experience, and strong behaviour management.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent classroom support to pupils.
• Support pupils across KS3 to KS5 in a specialist SEMH setting.
• Build positive relationships to help engagement with learning.
• Work closely with staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.
