Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant for a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. You will support pupils across KS3 to KS5, focusing on engagement and learning, while collaborating with staff to manage behaviours and promote positive outcomes.

The role is offered on a short-term or long-term basis, with dedicated consultants and CPD opportunities. Competitive PAYE rates and a referral scheme are provided.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. The setting supports young people across KS3 to KS5 with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment focused on helping pupils engage positively with their education.

The setting is looking to take on an SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant on a short-term or long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The successful SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent classroom support, manage challenging behaviour and help young people overcome barriers to learning.

The successful SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to provide consistent support to young people
