Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH setting in Keighley. You will provide targeted support to pupils across KS3 to KS5, helping them engage with lessons and manage emotional and behavioural needs. A patient and resilient approach, plus strong relationship skills, are essential.

The role is long-term with market-rate pay and full-time hours. You will work closely with staff to maintain a calm, supportive learning environment for vulnerable

Qualifications

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma.
Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
A patient, resilient and supportive approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent classroom support across KS3 to KS5 in a Trauma Specialist setting.
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff to support SEMH needs.
Help pupils engage with education and participate in lessons.
