Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley to recruit a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The role is based in a specialist environment with emotional and behavioural support to help pupils access education.

Salary is paid per day at £100–£130, with PAYE on a contract basis. The position offers dedicated consultant support, CPD opportunities, and a referral scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people.

• Do you have experience supporting secondary-aged pupils who have experienced trauma and require additional emotional and behavioural support?
• Are you patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people across KS3 to KS5?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Keighley. The setting supports young people across KS3 to KS5 with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment where pupils can access education alongside appropriate emotional and behavioural support.

The setting is looking to take on a Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting pupils across KS3 to KS5. The successful Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent classroom support, build positive relationships and help young people with SEMH needs engage with their education.

The successful Trauma Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
