Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker for Hastings Foyer, to manage a caseload of residents aged 16–25 and provide trauma-informed, independent-living support. The role involves housing compliance, rent monitoring, welfare benefits knowledge, and safeguarding across a seven-day rolling rota.

You will work with a dedicated team to empower young people, maintain records, and promote tenancy sustainment while following organisational policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements, rent management, welfare benefits, and tenancy sustainment
• Ability to manage arrears, ASB, and other non‑compliance issues using restorative approaches
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with statutory and voluntary services available to young people and ability to work proactively with a caseload to support progression towards independent living

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan.
• Housing and Compliance: coach with occupancy agreements, rent payments, and house rules; respond to breaches with restorative approaches.
• Coaching and Engagement: help residents articulate goals, engage with services, and build community connections.
• Maintain client records detailing journey, strengths, needs, risks and outcomes to monitor service performance.
